Skating on the Square

Jake got to go Skating on the Square two times last year and had been looking forward to going this year.  We went the first time the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and Jake had a great time.

He held on to the wall for a while.

But he really got the hang of it!

And his friend Mia ended up being there at the same time, so they had fun skating together.

The plan was to just stay a little while.  It wasn't too chilly and I had flip flops on that day.  As it got later it got chillier and my toes got colder.  Luckily Jake didn't want to use his gloves so I did!

It go pretty as the lights started coming on....
...and even prettier when the sun went down and the moon came up!

We stayed later than we thought and ended up missing the chance to buy tickets to see Mocking Jay Part 1 in our new theater, at 7:00...but we ended up going to see it at the 9:40 showing.  It has been a long time since we have stayed up that late to see a movie but if we didn't see it that night we would have to wait until the next Tuesday (because the tickets are only $5 on Tuesdays) and we didn't want to wait.  Aaron and I have decided we may be too old to go to the movies that late...but it was worth it!  This was all on the day that we took Jake's "This is what 13 looks like" photo shoot...It was a long (fun) day!
