We ate at Chick-fil-a today.

Unless you have been under a rock than you probably know why.  Just in case you have actually been under a rock I will try to catch you up to speed. :)

The President and CEO of  Chick-fil-a is a Christian (that's why they aren't open on Sunday's) and in an interview recently said this:   "We are very much supportive of the family -- the biblical definition of the family unit".  We believe that too.  Our church leaders even released a document all the way back in 1995 talking about the importance of families and marriages.  You can read The Family: A Proclamation To The World here.

People were asked to boycott Chick-fil-a.  But instead the opposite happened.  American's waited in long lines for fast food today to make a point.  Jake and I joined them. Aaron would have but he has to work later tonight and his lunch (or dinner in this case) break is only an hour and he wouldn't have been back in time.

This is the line after it had died down a little....
After we waited in line, ordered, waited for them to call our name (have you ever had them call your name in Chick-fil-a before?), and then went and ate in the car because there was no place to sit and eat it in the restaurant.
...Oh I almost forgot the other part of the line...
It is so good to know that so many people took time out of there busy schedules to stand up for what they believe in.  It was a good feeling.  You know that smiling on the inside and outside kind of feeling?   No one was upset about waiting.  Everyone was there for the same reason.

(I forgot to stick this picture in before the other ones and for some reason it isn't cooperating and going where I want it to go...)  We were waiting in a long line outside of the restaurant until someone coming out mentioned the line on the other side was shorter.  This is the shorter line.  It was all the way to the door.  I wanted to get a picture of the other line we were in that was outside, (while we were inside) but it didn't come out.  I am proud to live in a country were people are still willing to stand up for the freedom of speech and the freedom of religion.  I am glad that Jake is old enough to understand that even doing a small thing, like waiting in line for chicken nuggets, can make a difference.
