So long, farewell...something in another language!

I love the Sound of Music and I plan on actually knowing all the words to that song someday...But that will work for now.  We are taking a trip to NH and VT.  Have I mentioned that already?  I can't remember...Jake left for the trip with Nee and Papa.  I won't be leaving for 13 days...The longest I have ever been without my little bug.  Poor Aaron will have to wait a whole month to see him again because he isn't going up North.  I of course had to take picture to document Jake's departure with out me...

We swung by McDonald's for a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit.  It was one last chance to spoil him so he would miss me more...
This is Jake on Nee and Papa's doorstep...I just had to take another picture, so this seemed like as good a place as any...
Me and my boy...
See how good Jake is about letting me take his picture?  Aaron take notes....
Okay, so they are really leaving and I am wondering how long the next 2 weeks are going to be...

Jake has been so excited to go, but while we were packing he kept saying: "I can't believe it is already time to go."  and "I am really going to miss you."  But the thing I have to document the most is this conversations:
"Mommy, I feel like I need to tell you this since I don't have a Will.  If anything happens I want you to have all my stuff.  All my Lego's.  And I want you to take the money I have been saving and put it toward a Kindle Fire for yourself."  My child is such a little adult.  He is going to be such a great husband when he grows up.  I am not worried that anything is going to happen, but I am going to miss him like crazy!!!...But sleeping in will be AWESOME!  Have fun buddy!!!

Hilton Head Beach Photo Drop: Part 2

Again: a few words with a lot of pictures...

We finally had a sunny, rain free day!  And porpoises! (Is that how you spell it?)  Let's call them dolphins.
If dolphins are this close, does that mean sharks are too?...It didn't stop Jake and I from playing in the water for hours.  No pictures of that but we did it.  The townhouse we were staying in had boogie boards. :)

Papa had his bathing suit on but didn't get in.  Jake and I were the only ones that swam in the ocean.  Aaron waded.  Wimps.  Nee did swim in the pool with us and we played Marco Polo and monkey in the middle.  I love a pool...

We spent a lot of time digging holes.  Aaron doesn't love the sand (or the salty water) so he did a lot of watching.
He's so cute watching though, isn't he? :)

Low tide means warm pools!

The day we left was a little rainy again so we played at the park for a little while.

Jake may have been a little big for this little one...
That's better!
One out of 4 days of the beach was sunny.  But even on the cool, rainy, windy days we had a great time!  Thanks for inviting us to go with you Nee and Papa!

Hilton Head Photo Drop: Part 1

A lot of picture, with a few words...I am in catch up mode.

I had to snap a picture of Jake on the way to the beach. It has been years since we have been.
Enjoying the balcony and checking out our neighbor Al the gator...

First pick of Jake and his reunion with the beach...

Jake and me on the beach!  It was extremely windy and rainy but we didn't care.  Nee and Papa started to come with us but changed their mind when it started raining.  Aaron wasn't there yet.  He had to work so he got there later that evening.
Even though it was chilly the water was beautiful!
There was a pool too that Jake had to jump in and check out on the first day.  (Even though it was cold, windy, and rainy!  He comes by that naturally.  The water calls to us...)
The cute townhouse.

The next day when Aaron was there...checking out Al again.

Back on the beach..
On Saturday after spending a little time on the beach we decided to head to the famous Salty Dog Cafe.  This is a picture of Jake with a picture of Jake.  Did you follow that?  This picture of Jake is the original Salty Dog (there has been 3 other since the 1st Jake).  His masters boat sank at sea and he dragged him back to land-it took 3days and nights. They built the restaurant in Jake's honor and it was delicious!  We saw that sites on that end of the island, which included: a light house, boats (we all like the sailboat the best), a dead sting ray, a fun park, and some rain. It was a fun afternoon.

Ferns grow on the tree branches here.  Can you just feel the humidity when you look at this picture?
Spanish moss in the trees.  It is beautiful but I am sure there are snakes hiding in this very picture.  Curse you snakes of the South climbing trees!!!
