FHE: 7/20

Homemade peach cobble (my first from scratch because I am not a cooked fruit person) and Meet the Mormons.

I couldn't decide which picture to post.  The one with the peach cobler in focus or...

...the one with Meet the Mormons in focus. I posted both.

The guys liked the cobbler.  I think it needed a few more peaches...and some ice cream.  Meet the Mormon made me cry again.  I love it.  I love being Mormon.  I love FHE.
And since I didn't post it last week (and haven't really all year long...) here is what we did last week:

Scripture Pictionary.  It rocked.

                                                                       The End. :)
P.S.-
I should also mention that we had leftovers for dinner the night of Scripture Pictionary.  Why should I mention this you ask?  Because I took a picture of it, because it made me chuckle.  Tacos and pastat with spaghetti sauce. :)

I think I am picky. I like them. I don't love them.  But Mom agrees so I don't feel to picky

Memory Lane...

Oh look! Here's a post now! I should doing anything but this but...There is no "but" just a few words....
I had several Rubbermaid containers of all of Jake's school work from preschool right up until 8th/9th grade!  The big kid work is pretty boring stuff.  No hearts with words of adoration for me-just math problems that take up half a page.  The times they are a changing!  And I am changing my mind about keeping everything single thing Jake has ever created.  So I purged.  I kept more than I should.  I have to keep the homeschooling stuff but that is all kept tidy in huge binders...So the containers were really more like preschool through fourth grade.  I took tons of pictures and threw lots of stuff away.  And it felt amazing!  It took me one evening.  That is all.  And my quest for organization and freedom from chaos is still in full affect!  Here is some of the cuteness that my sweet boy created.  He has always been a genius, but not much of a speller. :)

I even tossed the elementary school yearbooks.  I took pictures of his pictures and the let it go...right into the garbage bag!

Check out this awesome eagle.
While I was doing this Aaron was using a new program (since he doesn't have CAD any more) to design a 3D look at a house we are getting ready to buy, fix up, and flip....what?  More on that later.  Aaron is starting up a business venture with a few other people...
Bless Jake's sweet little heart.  He was missing me on his first day of kindergarten...but I promise I was crying much more than he was.  I don't recall any tears on his part, but maybe they happened some time during the day.  I cried as soon he was out of my sight!
Turkey hunting apparently interested him...
I can't even...This is too precious to toss!

He was already nice to me!...I am wondering if we had a bad day when he wrote this...He doesn't seemed scarred so I won't worry too much about it.

This was our house in Fletcher.  I remember we pulled his little table outside and sat out in the rain (I held an umbrella over us) to color this.  It was in a frame in our kitchen.  No, I did not throw this away!!!

This was just one of the containers that was full to overflowing...Now we can use it to get out paperwork better organized.
The pile of trash...
What I kept.
And this stuff too...I went from 3 over flowing containers to one.  I am calling it a success!

I currently have...

...16 posts with pictures downloaded...but no words.  I will work on them as soon as I can feel like it...That is what it all comes down to people.  I just don't feel like it.  I will work on my laziness and post "sooner than later, than neither, than not".  Can you name that book?

I cried...

...when I heard that the definition of marriage (that was created by Heavenly Father, not man) was changed for ever and states rights were murdered in the same moment.  Today the Supreme Court has decided that gays have the right to be married in all 50 states. They over stepped their authority and decided states have no voice any more.  It doesn't matter if the states have banned it-by vote.  Our state constitutions are completely undermined and our national Constitution is hanging by a thread.  And my heart is breaking...

This week has been historical.  It is the week that people decided that since a crazy racist liked the Confederate flag it should be banned.  Now you can buy a Nazi flag on Amazon, but not a Confederate flag.  Although I don't own or fly a Confederate flag, I am not ignorant to what it actually stands for.  It stands for states rights.  Do some people use it as a symbol for evil? Yes,but that doesn't change what it really stands for. There is now talk about needing to deal with Gone With the Wind because it has symbols of the Confederacy in it. Ya think? It is based in Georgia at the time of the Civil War!!!  Of course it does!  Get over it people!!!  Stop being offended by everything or everything will be taken away from us!  Oh and the General Lee from the Dukes of Hazard isn't okay anymore either.  It is just ridiculous!

My heart is breaking as we see the the slow death of freedom and democracy in America.  I cried as they read the announcement of Fox news. This is a moment I will remember like 9/11.  We all remember where we were on that day. I will always remember where I was the day states rights and traditional marriage died.  We are witnessing the death of freedom, states rights, morals, and traditional marriage in America...

I could go on and on but I won't.  Part of our country is cheering as our freedoms are dying and their voice seems so much louder than mine right now.

I am not editing this so if it makes no sense I am not too worried about it.  This is me venting.  This is my documentation of life so that my posterity can look back and say that America was amazing and freedom was real...and I hope they will be saying they are lucky enough to live in a time that they restored all of it!

I still read...

...I just don't write much. These are books 10-16 for me this year (pitiful I know). I enjoyed all of these books (weeks ago).  Ben is timeless, about Laura is charming, Lewis is brilliant (this was a reread), Edith was thought provoking, Dashner fooled me into liking zombie books. The End.
