The Rail Trail

Jake has been wanting to ride his bike on the Rail Trail for a while now and the end of last week we finally decided to take an extended recess and enjoy the beautiful spring weather.  There is a big pile of what looks like sand or gravel at the beginning of the trail that turns out to be solid and Jake rolled his bike up on it to check it out.

Sadie wanted to run after Jake so bad but she is a little ADD when it comes to squirrels and you have to keep your dog on a leash on the Rail Trail.  So she dragged me along...

Sadie is pretty spoiled.  When I sat down and we started swinging she just laid down and enjoyed the break.

We decided to stop at the Rail Trail Dog Park and let Sadie off her leash for a while.

There were no other doggy friends but there was a pool and that is almost better!

It was fun to watch as Sadie followed Jake around every where he went.

Jake sat down on the swing at the dog park and had an America's Funniest Video moment.  He some who flipped the whole swing over.  It was hard not to laugh so I did. :)

I need to give in a little more when Jake asks to do spontaneous things and remember that sometimes making memories are more important than the To Do list.

A Dog And Her Boy....

Today while Jake was doing some math he kept having trouble focusing because....

Sadie was under the table trying to distract him.

It has been a nice day, after several really chilly ones, and Sadie was in and out all day.  She kept coming in and checking to see if Jake was ready to play yet.  Finally I told him to take a break and go outside with her.   This crazy dog loves her boy!

My Friday Night and Saturday's homecoming

Aaron headed to Scout Camp on Friday night which meant I had the evening to myself.  I missed my guys but an evening to myself doesn't happen very often so I took advantage of it and did a couple of projects.

I started in the dining room.  At first it looked like this:

I needed one more plate to replace the white one. But after finding the perfect plate (the one on top) to tie all the colors together, rearranging them a little, and rearranging the buffet, I love the finished product!
I also decided to update my daisy picture.  Here is the before (when I hadn't hung it in the living room yet.  I painted this back in 2011):
During:
And after:
It ties the navy blue in better and...Sadie seems to like it...
But she liked it even better when Jake got home from Scout Camp the next day...

Jake was happy to see The Lego Movie waiting for him after he was all showered and in clean clothes.
They guys were pooped and this is pretty much what the rest of the day looked like.
And a little playing of the 3DS while eating his favorite home cooked meal-creamy crockpot chicken
Sadie wasn't the only one happy her boys were home. :)

She is a mess...

This dog is adorable.  Obviously.  How could you not love that face?  BUT.  She sheds like no dog I have ever encountered.  Lab mixed with whatever is a mix that SHEDS!  Notice the floor beneath her...
I had vacuumed just a mere 3 days before I took this picture.  Gross.  We will be vacuuming every day for a while...
And the dirt she brings in the house!  How could I not mention the dirt?  Her favorite place to sit outside (besides on the porch, where she can keep watch of her yard and make sure the squirrels are kept in check) is in the dirt that is around the trampoline (a path she has worn...I will have to take a picture of that before we move for memory purposes).  She especially likes to lay in that dirt after Jake has sprayed her with the hose.  To be fair my vacuum fills up on one side before going to the other but that is still a lot dog fur and dirt...
Not to mention the fur I brushed off of her.  That is the fur from her back "haunches" and a little from her back.  And then she got restless and I let her go.  More brushing will be happening soon...Welcome Spring! :)

It is a good thing she is so stinkin' cute and smart and loving and cuddly...and the best dog on the planet!
