Five Minute Friday: Grateful

Over at The Gypsy Mama it is time for 5 minute Friday and I am ready to just write.  Just write with no proofreading.  Just write what comes to mind when I hear the word Grateful and a lot comes to mind!

Start:
Grateful...Grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who knows me.  Who made me who I am and who leads me every step of the way.  Grateful for a hardworking husband who sacrifices sleep to provide for us.  Grateful that he supports us in every way.  Grateful that he loves me inspite of my craziness.  Grateful for a boy who brings joy into my life every second of every day.  Grateful that he loves learning.  Grateful for his health and strength.  Grateful for his love.  I am grateful for the freedoms I know.  I am thankful to those who made and make that freedom possible.  I am free to speak, worship, and think how I choose.  And I choose to love the Lord with all my heart.  I choose to keep my family close.  I am grateful for choice.  I am grateful for Teva flip-flops, sleeping, cool breeze on a hot day, the feeling of dipping your toes in cooling water, I am grateful for life.
Stop.  Five minutes just isn't enough to even scratch the surface of what I am grateful for in my life.  What are you grateful for?

Five Minute Friday: Backwards

Got writers block?  Need to empty out the old noggin'?  Then you need to try 5 minute Friday over at The Gypsy Mama.  This is a hard one for some reason...Remember I ramble, I don't write, so don't expect too much... :)

Go

I eat pizza backwards. Crust first...That is seriously all that is popping into my head right now!  But I guess if I really think about it I do a lot of things backwards in the eyes of the world. I married Aaron before I lived with him. I got married before I had a child. I got married at 21 rather than waiting until I was 32 and successful in a big career.  I decided to stay home with my child and pinch pennies and cut coupons rather than have 2 incomes and go to Disney World on vacation.  I consider being a stay-at-home mom the greatest job in the world, rather than saying "I am just a mom" when people ask me what I do.  I choose to follow my Heavenly Father's plan, rather than following the worlds "do as you please" attitude.  In the eyes of the world I am "backwards".  I don't give myself enough credit (the world says)-I could do so much more in life than "just being a mom".  I think the world is backwards.

Stop

"No other success can compensate for failure in the home"-J.E. McCulloch. One of my all time favorite quotes....

I added the quote after the 5 minutes was up, but I had to it is what kept popping into my mind.  I have learned if things keep popping into your mind it isn't a coincidence, it is the Spirit trying to tell you someone else might need to hear it too.  Or it is the Holy Ghost reminding me that I need to focus and remember it in my life.  Either way, it is an awesome quote and I wanted to share it.  :)

Five Minute Friday: Everyday

I am not a writer-I am a rambler, so this really works for me. :)  If you need to just write without thinking.  If you need to just let out your thoughts and not worry about what people think-just release...Then you need to link up to The Gypsy Mama and have some fun with 5 minute Friday.

Here is my 5 minute Friday Starting now:

Everyday I want to take a step forward, instead of two steps back...I didn't accomplish my to do list...Let's be honest-have I ever really finished my to do list?  No, because in everyday life there is something always something to add.  Send the email to remind parents to send in $ for the end of the year class gift to the parents?  Check!  Figure out when I am actually going to have time to use the $ they send to get the gift for the teacher....Laundry done? Check!  No...wait...My dog just jumped on my freshly washed capri's and left 2 cute (sarcasm)  muddy foot prints...Add laundry back to the list.  My to do list never says Ta Da!-your done!  But that is okay...I am embracing the gift that my Heavenly Father has sent me.  I am a woman.  That makes me the mommy.  The center of our home for nurturing, preparing, and maintaining our home.  The To Do list is my reminder that everyday I am taking steps to lead my family back to our home above.  The EVERYDAY things I do to make our house a home are my way to take a step forward, instead of two steps back.  I will always look forward, because everyday is a gift...

STOP

I saw this on a blog I love and decided this would be my new mantra:

Now it's your turn...It is so fun you have to try it!!!  Come on everyone has 5 minutes.  Consider it a mini brain declutter.

Five Minute Friday: Deep Breath

I have really enjoyed a blog I stumbled upon called Pitterle Postings, and I have loved reading her Friday posts especially.  Patty is a gifted poet and writer!  She links up to "Five Minute Fridays" over at Gypsy Mama and I have been intrigued...So, I decided to give it a try.  I AM IN NO WAY CLAIMING TO BE A WRITER.  I am a rambler-that is probably why 5 minutes of just typing about a topic interests me.  So, here goes.  (This is the dialogue that went through my head this morning...)

The alarm is going off...already?  Deep Breath...I can do this.  I can get up and start the day...But I really don't want to...REALLY Deep breath.  I'm up, I'm up...Great Jake isn't up.  He is so grumpy when I have to wake him up!  It is such a better start to the day when he wakes me up....Deep breath.  Quick prayer.  Wake the poor boy up even though he was up late last night (late for him at least-the boy needs his sleep-he is only 9 1/2...almost 10 really...Where has this decade gone!?).  FOCUS!  I am starting to doze-WAKE UP!!!  Deep breath.  I am still in bed...Did I put the clothes in the dryer last night?  I hope so otherwise we are wearing unmatched socks again today.  I have got to remember to get dog food today...I wonder if Blogger will be working today...Did I just snore? DEEP BREATH...Aaron should be home soon.  How does he work 3rd shift-full time and go to school full time?  Because he loves us, that's how.  I married a great man.  Deep Breath.  If he can stay up all night for us, I can get my lazy self out of bed and wake up by almost a decade old baby...Where does the time go?  Deep breath...Another day is here...

How fun!  It is like a brain declutter and typing frenzy all in one!  You should try it!!  Link up here and join the fun!
