A Whole Bunch of School Stuff...

...from the past little while....

"School For Thought"in April at the library.  They do very cool stuff for homeschoolers and this activity was no exception.  They did Iron Chef and made fruit smoothies.

Some serious work is being done when the hood is up and Sadie is by his side giving moral support.  She does that a lot.

We went to another library in Chesnee where they have a STEM class.

I am so glad Jake has such a good buddy from Co-op.  Ethan is pretty cool.

I feel like I could live in this little library!

It wasn't a competition but Jake's went the farthest.  It was powered with a bike pump.  Pretty cool!  Aaron was jealous when I texted him pictures of what we were doing.

Jake had to chug the water to have a bottle for his car.  Then he just chugged this one for the fun of it.

After the class we did some school before heading out to lunch with friends.  (Look at this library...I love all the windows into the woods.)

It was a cute little restaurant but not good enough to go back.

Then after that is was homeschool day at the skating rink.

Co-op ended on April 20th.  It is a bittersweet time of the year!

We had an art show.

And I took pictures of my art class!

The kiddos played.

We had a big lunch to celebrate the last day.

Then on Earth Day we went to the library for a field trip.  Guess who we met there?  Ethan. :)

For it being Earth Day (reduce, reuse, recycle!) they sure did hand out a whole lot of junk for us to take home and throw away!
But we will definitely keep the tomato and pepper plants they gave out for free!

Goodbye Pinecone Valley...

This used to be "Pine Cone Valley".  A place in the woods behind Nana and Papa Harmon where the cousins used to play.  Now all the trees are getting cut down.

It is very strange to watch Jake's childhood memories being bulldozed...

This is what it looks like now behind their house...We will have to see how it looks in a couple of weeks. :(  They are supposed to be leaving a buffer.  I hope all these trees are in the buffer...

Park Day

Last Thursday was busy (we went to the Avengers that night remember?)!  We met some homeschool friends at the park and it was warm enough for playing in the creek.

Lots of really good days end like this in the spring and summer. :)

We are dorks

A few reasons why we are big dorks:

My new favorite thing is to read as I speed walk up and down the drive way.  Two birds, one stone.  Reading is one.  And getting steps in is two.  I have lost 5.4 pounds in the past two weeks by the way.

The House of Mirth is really good by the way...

Aaron and Jake enjoy doing math in the evening.  Jake keeps a little list of questions that he doesn't get (and obviously I don't either) and they do them together a couple of nights a week.  But they don't just do the questions.  They also talk about what will be the next step and what it will lead to in more advanced math...I don't understand it but they love it.

We like to play board games that require strategy with our friends...

...while wearing superhero shirts and then we go to see superhero movies on premiere night (last Thursday 4/30 at 10:10pm...not sure how our movie theater was able to show it on Thursday when it technically didn't come out until Friday...).  Avengers Age of Ultron is awesome by the way.  Better than the first Avengers and good enough to see it in the theaters again.  It is that good.

This lady is a big dork too.  She is an obvious Captain America fan.  I can't decide who is my favorite Iron Man or Captain America....

Our movie theater has recliners by the way.

And we are dorky enough to have bought the collectable cups and popcorn bucket. :)

Day 2-6....

I forgot.  Seriously.  I completely forgot...Here are a few pictures that I have taken in May so far that will make up for it....

Sadie loves to play in the hose, but over the winter the only time she does is if there is a really warm day and we give her a bath with it.  We will have to get her used to just playing in it again.  I really don't understand why she doesn't like a bath though...

It took some serious elbow grease but the chevron rug looks brand new again!  I don't think I will ever get another rug that isn't an indoor/outdoor rug.  I literally scrubbed it and sprayed it with the hose and it is as good as new!

Mom did a craft show up in Hendersonville and Aunt Sheila and I drove up to check it out.  While we were there Aunt Sheila go her caricature done...but it looked nothing like her.  Mom had great sales and her crafts were definitely the best there.
Jake has been saving his money for ever and got lucky when we found a Lego set he has wanted for about a year on clearance for $25 off!
This is one little part of it.
This is the rest of it.
                                                                     It's pretty fancy...

Oh right and Monday was Star Wars day.  May the 4th be with you!  Now I am kind of caught up with the picture a day thing...I really did forget.  Now I need to go back and update the rest of the old posts that have been waiting for a few words for weeks now.  I uploaded pictures to remind myself to post about things that have been going on.  There are 7 posts waiting for words...I am a mess.

A Picture A Day In May: Day 1

How is it May already?! May is awesome...May the 4th be with you, Cinco de Mayo, Mother's Day, my birthday (and several other birthdays in the fam)!  That is a lot of awesomeness!  And I am going to add some more awesomeness...I am bringing it back: A picture a day in May.  I WILL, even if it kills me, post a picture a day.

This it my pick for today.  We kind of like Chick-Fil-A around here and I have been eating really healthy lately (and have lost 5.4 pounds in the past two weeks), and I slept in because we stayed up late watching Avengers Age of Ultron, and (last and for this run on sentence I swear) we decided a book brunch was a great idea!  I love books.  I love how Jake (and Aaron's) fingers are double jointed....I just love this picture for some reason.

Now here are a couple more...because it is really hard to post just one....
